Canada launched a comprehensive Employment Strategy targeting closure of the disability employment gap by 2040, built on three pillars: supporting individuals, enabling employers, and strengthening system enablers. The federal public service already surpassed its goal of 5,000 net new hires of people with disabilities, reaching nearly 7,000. The strategy follows the Inclusive Workplaces employer awareness campaign launched earlier in 2024.
