Construction - Civils Design Engineer

The main knowledge, skills and experience required of the Civil Design Engineer are outlined as follows:- Understanding of civil engineering principles and their application to water and wastewater infrastructure (treatment works, pipelines, pumping stations Familiarity with UE design standards, codes and guidanc- Awareness of geotechnical considerations (foundations, ground conditions, settlement etc. Understanding of construction methods, constructability issues, and sequencing at a preliminary stage. Awareness of health and safety considerations and risk management in design. Technical design skills – ability to prepare conceptual layouts, GA drawings, pipe layouts etc. CAD/BIM proficiency – ability to use tools such as AutoCAD & BIM 360 for preliminary designs. Collaboration & coordination – working closely with process, mechanical, electrical, and environmental engineers in a multidisciplinary team.
